The Ridgemont Highlands based Jackson had a memorable day at Kenilworth on Saturday, when the triple G1 winning son of Ridgemont’s late, great sire Dynasty was responsible for two very smart looking winners.

His first winner came when his Ridgemont bred (in partnership with Georgina Jaffee) and owned 3yo daughter Flame Tree made an impressive winning debut in Saturday’s third race, a maiden plate for fillies over 1400 metres.
A three-parts sister to G3 eLan Gold Cup winner Dynasty’s Blossom, the regally related Flame Tree sauntered home to post an emphatic 1.75 length debut win –at the expense of fellow Jackson daughter Blue Gangsta.

Jackson ended the day in style when his very promising three-year-old daughter Pretty Young Thing scored a visually impressive victory when blasting home to land the eighth and final race most impressively. Under jockey Greg Cheyne (also victorious on Flame Tree), Pretty Young Thing outclassed her rivals when she romped home to a 2.75 length win in the FM75 handicap over 1400 metres and she looks a smart sort in the making.
Bred and owned by Ridgemont, Pretty Young Thing has now won two of only five starts, with the filly having scored a facile 3 length maiden win two starts back.

Both the Jackson winners on Saturday were trained by Brett Crawford –who had so much success with Jackson himself.

A winner of all of the G1 Investec Cape Derby, G1 Daily News 2000 and G1 Champions Cup, and from the same family as multiple champion sire Smart Strike and ill-fated South African champion Soft Falling Rain, Jackson made a pleasing start with his first crop including such smart performers as Can You Feel It, Mr Crumford, Heaven’s Embrace and Dynamite Jack.
