Ridgemont Highlands’ outstanding stallion Dynasty appears to have another high class group of 3yos representing him this season.
Dynasty’s sophomores in 2018-2019 include the undefeated filly Front And Centre, the hugely promising Majestic Mozart, the highly rated Bunker Hunt, and the progressive Thanksgiving (with the latter finishing a creditable second in the Listed KZN Guineas Trial on Sunday).

Bela-Bela

A former July winner and Horse Of The Year, Dynasty is also sire of the handsome 3yo Belgarion, who made a stylish winning debut over 1200m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Bred and owned by Alec and Gillian Foster, the Dynasty colt powered home from off the pace to win by three quarters of a length, under jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe.

A full-brother to useful racemare Qing,  Belgarion is out of the Acatenango mare Riva.

Dynasty is also sire of another potentially useful 3yo in the form of Vforvictory, a R3.8 million buy –and full brother to the triple G1 winner and promising sire Jackson, who made a pleasing debut when second over 1600m on Saturday.

Jackson

A four times Equus Outstanding Stallion, Dynasty’s 60 black type winners, which include eight official Equus Champions, are headed by the G1 winners Act Of War, Ancestral Fore, Beach Beauty, Bela-Bela, Eyes Wide Open, Futura, Jackson, Just Sensual, Irish Flame, It’s My Turn, Lady In Black, Lady Of The House, Legislate, and Liege.

Trainer Mike de Kock and jockey Gavin Lerena teamed up to win the G3 Three Troikas Stakes at Turffontein Racecourse on Sunday with the well related Storm Destiny, a filly by Ridgemont Highlands' Champion Dynasty.

Despite Lerena putting up 0.5kgs overweight, Storm Destiny attracted strong betting support for the 1400m contest for 3yo fillies, and she duly jumped the tote favourite for Wilgerbosdrift Stud Farm - South Africa's Mary Slack and Michael Javett.
